Concert by La Serenissima

Following a sell-out concert at Cartmel Priory in 2015 as part of the Magna Carta Festival, La Serenissima is back by popular demand to perform at Cartmel Priory this September.

Directed by violinist Adrian Chandler, La Serenissima is recognised as the UK’s leading baroque performance ensemble and recently won a prestigious Gramophone Award . Currently in residency at St. John’s Smith Square, London, this is a rare opportunity to hear a renowned baroque ensemble in the stunning surroundings of the 800-year-old Cartmel Priory. A truly unmissable event.

Don’t miss out on your chance to experience this unique performance. Get your tickets here: http://bit.ly/LaSerenissima-CartmelPriory

What are my travel options for getting to and from the event?

If you’re travelling to us by train, there is an approximately hourly train service to and from Grange-over-Sands – the nearest junction with the West Coast main line being at Lancaster. Cartmel is approximately two miles from Grange-over-Sands and you can get to us by bus or taxi from the station.

To reach us by car, leave the M6 at junction 36 and follow the A591 and then A590 signposted Barrow for approximately 12 miles. Shortly after passing under a footbridge, take a left turn signposted Cartmel. Follow the signs down into the village and make a right turn between the Cockles in Cartmel Premier shop and the Pig & Whistle pub. With the Priory now in view, continue down this road, turn right at the end and follow the road through the village until you come to the Cartmel Village Shop. Take the lane to the left of the shop and you will come to the Cartmel Racecourse car park.

Parking is available at the Racecourse car park and at the Cartmel Primary School playground, Aynsome Road, LA11 6PR. Off-street parking is extremely limited.
