Gregorian Chant Workshop with the director of Schola Gregoriana of Cambridge
On Saturday the 30th March Cartmel Priory will be holding a Gregorian Chant workshop in Cartmel village hall starting at 10.00am. The workshop will run for approximately four hours with a break for lunch and a break before the performance at Vespers service at the priory in the afternoon.
We are very fortunate to have the world famous Iain Simcock teaching us. Iain was organ scholar at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle and Christ Church, Oxford, before being appointed Sub-Organist at Westminster Abbey and, for seven years, Assistant Master of Music at Westminster Cathedral. Now working freelance from the UK, Iain maintains his connection with the Abbey of Solesmes, as well with another Benedictine Abbey in France, Le Barroux, having been the advisor for the new organ to be built there shortly. He has recently been appointed director of Schola Gregoriana of Cambridge.
The cost for the day is £20 and please bring your own lunch. To book your place please e mail – firstname.lastname@example.org
