People

The people who make the Priory what it is.

Cartmel Priory is run by a team of dedicated clergy, administration staff and volunteers who make the church what it is today. A lot goes into maintaining and running a medieval priory, and all the work behind the scenes is what ensures your experience is the very best when you visit.

The Priory is run by our Vicar, Nick Devenish, as well as a dedicated team of elected representatives who make key decisions on church worship, activity and upkeep. Find out a bit more about our key team members below, and don’t forget to come and say hello on your next visit to the church.

We also have an amazing team of volunteers who help the Priory in many ways, from welcoming visitors and leading historical tours to flower arranging, catering, general maintenance of the building and pastoral care support.
