Organ Recital – Iain Simcock

On Saturday the 30 March in Cartmel Priory there will be a performance of sung vespers led by Iain Simcock, director of Schola Gregoriana, Cambridge followed by a celebrity organ recital given by Iain Simcock.

Iain was organ scholar at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle and Christ Church, Oxford, before being appointed Sub-Organist at Westminster Abbey and, for seven years, Assistant Master of Music at Westminster Cathedral. He was the first British prize-winner in the Chartres International Organ Competition and studied with David Sanger and Jean Langlais..Now working freelance from the UK, Iain maintains his connection with the Abbey of Solesmes, as well with another Benedictine Abbey in France, Le Barroux, having been the advisor for the new organ to be built there shortly. He has recently been appointed director of Schola Gregoriana of Cambridge.

Christmas Services at Cartmel Priory


Christmas Eve at 5.30pm Candlelit Crib Service and at 11.30pm Midnight Mass.
Christmas morning at 8.00am Holy Communion (BCP) and at 10.30am Sung Eucharist.
All are welcome to celebrate Christmas at the Priory.
The Priory will be closed on 26th, 27th and 28th December
with limited opening up to 4th January.
