Music & Bells

Sounds that bring the Priory to life.

Music is integral to life at the Priory. Times may have changed, but over the years what still remains is a tradition for worship.

Since 1620 organ music has been heard through the church, and is still at the heart of worship. Under the expert hand of our musical director and organist, and inspired by the building, the choir leads the congregation in the singing of hymns, psalms and spiritual songs.

In common with most medieval cathedrals, monasteries and churches, bell ringing is still an important part of Priory life and has been calling people to worship for centuries. Ringing takes place on Sundays from 10:00am – 10:30am to welcome worshippers to morning service, and ringers who are holidaying in the area are welcome to join the team.

The Priory can be hired as a space for a music event, concert or rehearsal, please us the contact facility to enquire.
